en Route, A Touring Dance Project

en Route is a touring dance project that facilitates performances for local artists in areas that Next Reflex Dance Collective selects every year. We work on a collaborative level with local theaters and artists to produce a one or two night performance in each selected location. Collaborating with various artists in this way builds interest and audience in the dance scenes in each location.

In 2007 Next Reflex Dance Collective brought en Route to Joe's Movement Emporium/World Arts Focus in Mount Rainier, Maryland, The Court Square Theatre in Harrisonburg, VA, and Jeslyn Performing Arts Center in Huntington, WV.
In 2008 en Route will visit The Court Square Theatre in Harrisonburg, VA, for a second year, on April 26 and 27, 2008 and at the Thalian Hall Theater in Wilmington, NC on April 19th, 2008.

It is Next Reflex Dance Collective's mission to work collaboratively with artists of all dance disciplines and to support the creation of experimental work in various communities. We believe that the sharing of ideas facilitates creativity on many levels while also reaching a broader audience. Our objective with en Route is to give local artists an opportunity to present their work and for us to create greater interest for dance in various communities by the inclusion of their local artists. We want to make every effort to be a resource for artists by the inclusion in en Route.
If you are a local artist from Harrisonburg, VA or Wilmington, NC and interested in being included in the en Route dance project, please submit a proposal form and a DVD or VHS of your completed or work in progress to the mailing address below. Pieces should be no more than 12 minutes in length.
